Overview

The Summary.

A professional services firm needed secure mobile access to client information and a consistent way to distribute internal updates. VARTEQ developed iOS and Android applications connected to a custom CMS on Microsoft Azure. Internal communication efficiency improved by 40%, and manual content update work fell by more than 50%.

About the project. A professional services firm that needed mobile access to client information and internal content.

Engagement length. 4 months after requirements sign-off, delivered on schedule.

01Where they started

The challenge.

Staff had no dedicated mobile interface for client information or internal updates. Existing tools were disconnected, difficult to use on mobile devices, and introduced security risks the firm could not accept.

Publishing an update required manual changes in several systems. There was no central control over which users received which information, so staff relied on workarounds that slowed daily tasks.

Discovery Findings

The review identified a need for centralized content management and secure mobile access connected to the existing Microsoft Azure environment.

Role-based permissions and internal IT compliance approval were required. The team determined that the available off-the-shelf options would not meet those requirements and proceeded with a custom application.

02What we built

The solution.

  • iOS and Android applications with controlled access to client information
  • A CMS for staff to create, update, and distribute content themselves
  • User roles and permissions based on internal IT policies and compliance requirements
  • Microsoft Azure deployment with Azure App Proxy for secure remote access within the firm’s requirements
  • Development completed on schedule in 4 months
  • All intended users adopted the platform after rollout

The mobile app and CMS operate as a connected system inside the firm’s Azure environment.

  1. 01

    iOS and Android Application

A reusable mobile framework supported the iOS and Android build. Staff could view client information and updated content in one interface, with permissions limiting access to the material needed for each role.

  2. 02

    Content Management

Staff could create, revise, and publish content in the CMS without requesting developer help for routine changes. The admin interface and dashboards gave nontechnical users direct control over publishing across the platform.

  3. 03

    Azure Deployment and Access Controls

The system runs on Microsoft Azure, with Azure App Proxy controlling identity access and remote login. Deployment remained within the firm’s existing compliance boundary and met internal IT policies without a separate security infrastructure. Web APIs connected the app and CMS to existing sources, while a shared data layer managed client and content records.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Discovery and design mapped the planned features to staff workflows and security requirements. The development team then worked in iterations, using regular feedback to adjust the implementation as requirements became clearer.

The CMS and mobile applications were developed in parallel and connected to Azure during the build. Azure App Proxy was configured as part of integration for identity access and remote login. Training, documentation, and compliance checks accompanied the final rollout. Delivery took four months from requirements sign-off and finished on schedule.

03What changed

The outcome.

  • 40%

    Improvement in Internal Communication Efficiency

Staff received updates through the mobile app from a single publishing system. This reduced the coordination and repeated exchanges previously needed to distribute information.

  • More than 50%

    Less Manual Content Update Work

The CMS replaced separate manual changes across tools. Staff could keep information current with fewer steps and less effort.

  • 100%

    Adoption Among Intended Users

All intended users adopted the system after deployment. Role-specific access, a familiar mobile interface, and straightforward onboarding helped staff start using it.

  • Remote Access Within Internal Security Requirements

Azure App Proxy provided secure remote access under the firm’s compliance requirements. The deployment met internal IT policy from launch and did not require a separate security infrastructure.
